Zibri Announces ZiPhone 3.0 Unlocking Tool

iphone.jpgiPhone hacker Zibri has announced the release of his latest iPhone unlocking tool, ZiPhone 3.0. Still a free-to-download tool, ZiPhone 3.0 fixes a number usability bugs and tweaks and has the added ability of being able to now take care of problems with Wi-Fi functionality post unlocking. The new tool also allows for customised plugins and now adds an embedded app installer.

“As usual it is better to use ziphone on a restored iPhone, but you can also just run ziphone -j to add the plugin support” - Zibri

iPhone to get handwriting recognition capability?

Apple iPhoneA recent job advertisement posted by Apple has led to speculation that the iPhone could get handwriting recognition.

The call for a “Handwriting Recognition Engineer” to work full-time in Cupertino points to Apple developing some kind of new system, but whether it’s something that will appear on the iPhone is another matter…

Australia to get 3G iPhone on Telstra Next G network?

Apple iPhoneOne of the latest rumours surrounding the iPhone is that it will come to Australia on the Telstra Next G network in the second quarter of 2008, with eight million units expected to be produced in the third quarter.

According to a report in Smart House, Telstra’s Next G network is credited as being the fastest in the world, currently running at 7.2Mb/s, and tipped to reach 32Mb/s with planned network upgrades that could coincide with the iPhone’s Australian debut…

New iPhone Firmware Beta ‘pwned’ Within 24 Hours

iphone.jpgA recent firmware beta update that was seeded to iPhone developers has been reportedly ‘pwned’ by the iPhone Dev Team within some 24 hours of it’s release. The team successfully managed to unlock the new firmware and install 3rd party apps.

According to the Dev Team, “Apple will not really be able to patch it this time.”

Gizmodo have a plethora of photo evidence showing screenshots of the iPhone device running version “2.0 (5A225c)” and unlocked running on the network “o2 - de”.
